Mass rallies held across Bulgaria against the supply of weapons to Kiev
4 May 2022
As part of the Bulgarian Campaign for Peace and Neutrality, actions against the provision of military assistance to Ukraine were held in 11 Bulgarian cities — Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Ruse, Plovdiv and others.
The people are categorically against the supply of weapons to Kiev and call on the government to remain neutral.
In the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, several hundred people gathered on the square in front of the National Assembly building with calls for the resignation of the government and a demand to the deputies of parliament, who today, on May 4, should consider providing military assistance to Ukraine, to impose a moratorium on sending troops and weapons to Kiev.
Activists also opposed sending additional NATO forces to Bulgaria.
"Bulgaria should be a peacemaker in the Ukrainian conflict, and not give weapons," the protesters chanted.
